Fresh off of the release of his instrumental album, Yen Dollar Music, Vol. 1 (via ProducersIKnow.com), the multi-talented East Point, GA native Yamin, formerly known as DJ AmDex, presents the Derek "Zero" Evans-directed music video for “Yamin”, his self-produced single from his debut solo album Yamin, out now. "This song was done in the spirit of self-actualization," Yamin explains.
"The bigger picture is that the world is filled with people who have been displaced due to war, slavery, and scarcity brought on by both. The chorus is a mantra for all of us who understand what that feels like, yet refuse to lose ourselves in the storm." Features on the new album include John Robinson (Scienz of Life, DOOM, J. Rawls), Boog Brown (Mello Music Group), Chopp (The Smile Rays, Dillon), Blc Txt (King I Divine), Gotta Be Karim (Black Spade, Do For Self).
“Gone Today, Here Tomorrow” features a cameo from DT, Yamin’s partner in rap duo Clan Destined, whose third LP Self Titled, received 5 out of 5 stars on CreativeLoafing.com. The “Yamin” video follows on the heels of the video for the album’s first single/videos "Yamintro" and “Never Leave”. Yamin produces all but two songs, which are handled by fellow ATL producer Illastrate. Yamin is available at yaminsemali.bandcamp.com
